The coir fibers are attached to the base with glue. Therefore, not all fibers are anchored identically, and it is completely normal for some fibers to shed at the beginning of use.

For maintenance, dry cleaning is recommended. Use a brush, do not use water, and do not machine wash.

Each doormat is made from the husks of approximately 25 coconuts. The husks are first "seasoned" in coastal basins where they are harvested, then manually beaten to extract the fiber. The doormats are then painted and colored by hand one by one using different stencils. A traditional open-air sun-drying technique is then used to fix the paint to the doormat's surface. Finally, a non-slip backing is added to keep the doormat firmly in place and reduce the risk of slipping.
