With its long, flattened, spoon-shaped bill, the spoonbill is an instantly recognizable wetland bird. It can be found in marshes, deltas, and lagoons, where it moves slowly, foraging in shallow water.
Surprisingly, by sweeping its beak from left to right, it catches small fish, crustaceans, and aquatic insects. Its dazzling white plumage, sometimes tinged with pink during certain seasons, and its slender silhouette make it an elegant and fascinating bird to observe.
