A symbol of strength and tenderness, the tigress protects and nourishes her young from birth. Lying beside them, she suckles them and ensures their safety, keeping them safe from predators or dangers. For several weeks, the tiger cubs are entirely dependent on their mother before they can begin to explore their environment.
The tigress plays an essential role in their learning: she gradually teaches them to hunt and to recognize the smells and sounds of the forest. Surprisingly, baby tigers are born blind and only open their eyes after about ten days, remaining completely vulnerable during this period.
