Back to the Future is an American science fiction film directed by Robert Zemeckis, released in 1985.

The plot follows a teenager, Marty McFly, on a journey to the past aboard a time machine built by Doctor Emmett Brown from a DeLorean DMC-12 car. Starting from 1985 and propelled to 1955, Marty, with the help of the 1955 "Doc," must resolve the temporal paradoxes caused by his interventions in the past and find a way to make the machine work to return to his original time.
