Drax was created in 1973 by Jim Starlin, played by former WWE fighter Dave Bautista. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Drax is apparently not from Earth, as in the comic book, but a brutal warrior of a primitive species that interprets everything literally, without the ability to understand metaphors or sarcasm. Drax seeks revenge against Thanos for the murder of his family, so he joins Peter Quill's group. In Avengers: Infinity War, Drax and the other Guardians of the Galaxy join forces with Thor and other Avengers to defend the universe from the plans of Thanos and his minions of the Black Order.
