Yu-Gi-Oh! tells the story of Yugi Mutou, a shy young boy who enjoys all kinds of games, but is often bullied. One day, he solves an ancient riddle known as the Millennium Riddle. From then on, whenever Yugi or one of his friends is threatened by those with dark hearts, this other Yugi shows up and challenges them to dangerous shadow games, which reveal the true nature of someone's heart, with the losers of these contests often subjected to a dark punishment called the Penalty Game.
